Version 3.0 Available Now!

The day is finally here everyone! You can download our 3.0 demo (totally free) today. I'd be more enthusiastic, but I am tired as all get out. The last few days have been rough for me, with the programming grind, squashing bugs, and several compromises I have had to make with this release. Not to mention having a family pet of mine pass on Sunday, and having to bury him in the rain…

Before I go into more details on this release, let me list the key features of the demo. As explained earlier, you are able to play the first few days of Ravia's route. Upon demo completion, mini-scenarios with Crescia, Maikah, and Alphi will unlock.

To start off with the new content, select Day 5: Formulations from the scene selection menu. However, if you wish to unlock all content, it is advised to start a new game. The good news is that you can jump around scenes for the various unlocks since that information is permanently tied to your system (persistent unlock).

Features

Let's go into some of the major highlights of this release, and a few compromises I have had to make.

  • Available for PC/Linux (tested Steam Deck -64bit only this time)
  • 1920x1080 Resolution
  • Over 50k words and 4+ hrs of gameplay
  • Robust cast of over 15 Characters
  • 7 CGs (with variations)
  • Glossary, Scene Selection and CG Gallery
  • Partial Voice Acting

Converse Time has had a GUI update. The programming for the Lyca and Ferine event from chapter 2 has remained the same for the most part. I was able to add nifty idle lines, which was something I always wanted to do but struggled with before.

The save system is incomplete and in some ways broken. I have omitted all text information upon a save game, things are still buggy and I'm struggling heavily with the implementation. I'll likely have to commission someone with the know-how to insert this coding correctly. Slot 2 might be bugged, at least it was on my client-side test. I couldn't quite frankenstein a fix, so be aware of that.

Butler Integration with the Itch.io app is a no-go. Long story short, I have to post updates manually and that makes it harder for the user to update their game. Kind of annoyed things didn't work out here. It's possible save files will transfer, but I'm not sure about persistent unlocks.

There are likely bugs and crashes. I don't think the game actually crashes much, but I have had "locks" where the game cannot continue. This likely requires a restart, so I apologize in advance. Regrettably, I haven't had the full time to test the game as sufficiently as I would like. My plan is to compile all bugs and update once more prior to the Kickstarter. I would appreciate any bug feedback either on the main page or on this post!

Status of Steam Platform

Unfortunately, the game is not ready for Steam at this moment in time. The plan is to host it there eventually, but the process takes some time. If I'm lucky I can post the coming soon page on steam during the Kickstarter.

I recently updated the metadata of the game on Twitch, so in the unlikely event someone will stream the game, there will be a cover image! I'll be hosting a live stream on the 28th to coincide with the Kickstarter launch! There is likely to be a physical merch giveaway!

More things I'm probably forgetting. That's the basic plan folks. Thank you for the support! We're practically at 150 followers for our campaign. That's amazing (and honestly more than I expected). Even if there are bumps in the road, I'll try my best to iron things out over time.

Android build is also not quite ready... I'd like to test it out when I can.

Valentine's day is today after all. Well… I wish all the best to the couples out there. One key thing to remember is that it's ok to be alone, particularly today. You'll soon discover that Rayen was quite antsy from the onset, leading to his own Valentine's day debacle. Hopefully, everyone finds some value in our game so far, be it entertainment, wisdom, enlightenment, or anything in between.

Lots to do still in the coming weeks. I'll have to make time for some more rest before I get overwhelmed.

Happy Valentine's day and see you all very soon with another update.

Hey, everyone. Just letting you know that I have identified several "major" issues with this build. I'll release an update that corrects these issues shortly.
